The heading picture shows the entire train. This is what you will get:
Maxitrak PEARL 7.5" gauge locomotive. This loco has been built and test steamed, but not run in yet, so it is still stiff in the motion and probably needs some bugs worked out, as do all new engines. This is best done on a track, and as there is none in Jamaica I have not been able to do more than a test steam.
The kit was purchased with the optional spoked drivers, brass capped chimney, brass dome, dummy sanders and injector options. I have added the following modifications to PEARL.
Driving Car. This car is built on a steel frame chassis as described in the last chapter on building Pearl. It has a 5 gallon water tank behind the driver's seat with a shutoff ball valve in the tool compartment under the seat. The small box in front of the seat could be used as a coal bunker.
Riding Car. This is a small riding car with a longitudinal bench type seat that can hold two adults or three kids.
The cars are coupled by steel bar links. The Modeltec article called for 3/16" pins, and holes have been drilled this size. I feel 1/4" would be a better size, but this is an easy change to make should you so desire. The loco couplers accept 1/4"pins.
The driving car couples to the loco and a plastic tube connects the water tank outlet to the injector. The saddle tank on the loco is small and so I added the injector as the main source of feed water.
The price I'm asking is based on it being available in Miami. I will crate and ship the entire train to Miami at my expense. The buyer will make arrangements to collect it from Miami or pay for shipping from Miami to their destination.
If you have any questions please email me. If you like your trains small and funky and a little out of the ordinary this could be the one for you.
