I made my annual trek to New Athens, Ohio to attend the 2003 Stumptown show on Saturday Sept. 6th. This was the 41st reunion that started at Raymond Laizure's Farm. The show has been changing as the number of steam engines has dropped to the point that there were 3 full size engines and 3 models this year. I want to take the Groton back this this show and the Dover show as a tribute to Harry and Fred Rogers who used to show the Groton at these shows in the '60's and '70's. I discussed this briefly with Jay Graham, secretary of the club, and he indicated that as long as the engine had been state inspected and the operator licensed, the engine would be welcome. I need to get my act in gear and get all of that done!
